Rare perfumed advertising card for the perfume Volt from the house of L.T. Piver Paris, launched in 1922 in the heart of the Art Deco era.

The Piver house was founded in 1774 by Michel Adam, a perfumer-glover established on Rue Saint-Martin in Paris. One of his apprentices, Pierre-François Lubin, would later found his own equally famous house. The house then passed to Louis Toussaint Piver (hence the name), who modernized it and developed a wide range of perfumes, powders, and soaps.

From the Second Empire, Piver established itself as an international benchmark:

    • Early use of advertising and refined packaging.

    • Opening of branches in London, New York, Moscow, Cairo…

    • Participation in World's Fairs, where the house won awards.

LT Piver launched many iconic perfumes:

  • Pompeïa (1907), with chypre and floral notes.

  • Rêve d’Or (1889), one of the great classic powdery scents.

  • Volt (1922), in a more modern spirit, evoking dynamism and elegance.

  • Aria, Bleu de France, Adieu Sagesse, etc.

The house stands out for:

    • Luxurious bottles signed by great glassmakers (Baccarat, sometimes Lalique).

    • Highly elaborate Art Nouveau and Art Deco advertisements.

    • Perfumed cards (like this one) distributed by partner perfumeries.

LT Piver still exists, with a heritage range featuring some old creations, although its prestige is mainly linked to its achievements before 1950.

This elegant card illustrates the range with its refined bottles and soap box (now unscented).

On the back, the personalized advertisement for Maison Bloublomme – Épouse F. Quintens-Bloublomme, a perfumery and leather goods store located in St-Trond (Belgium), recalls the role of local businesses in the distribution of prestige perfumes in the early 20th century.

This medium, typical of the years 1925-40, bears witness to the advertising expertise of the era, combining careful graphics, elegant typography, and olfactory marketing. A collector's item for lovers of antique perfumery and retro advertising.
