Very beautiful Art Deco brooch, signed ELLDEE, made of 835/1000 silver, set with small marcasites. It is in the shape of a bouquet and dates from the 1940s.
It bears 2 hallmarks: A835 for the silver content (this fineness mark was used in Belgium from 1942 to 1990) and ELLDEE for the silversmith: the Lutz Delmotte silversmiths. The Elldée silver and goldsmiths' shop was located at Rue des Commerçants 29 in Brussels during the interwar period. Its archives and various objects were bequeathed to the City of Brussels (Archives and Museum).
This beautifully crafted brooch features a safety clasp.
