Gay-Lussac centesimal alcoholmeter, mercury alcohol thermometer, in its original blue cardboard case.

An alcoholmeter is a glass measuring instrument used to determine the amount of alcohol in a solution, based on its density. Since alcohol is less dense than water, the lower the density, the higher the alcohol content. Like a hydrometer, it consists of a graduated tube, weighted at the bottom with mercury.

The tube is in very good condition, as is the box.

Dimensions: tube length 32 cm, width 2 cm to 0.6 cm, case length 34.5 cm by 3.7 cm, weight 83g.

Free delivery to Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

Careful shipping.
