Small Nimy (Belgium) earthenware cup with small blue and white checks.

The INNO mark, which is the mark of the Imperial and Royal Manufacture of Nimy, is on the bottom.

Founded in 1789 in Nimy near Mons, the factory changed owners several times. In 1849, the earthenware factory was bought by the Mouzin – Lecat company. These pragmatic industrialists relaunched production and made the Nimy name known throughout the world. Drawing on their successive experiences, they took over the Onnaing (France) factories in 1858 and Wasmuël in 1878. In 1898, the founding company was transformed into a limited company and began its decline. The factory went through the First World War during which the occupier dismantled many Belgian factories to seize their production tools and avoid competition. From 1921, the Nimy factory was bought by the Maastricht (Netherlands) ceramics company which definitively closed the factory in 1951 (source: Faïencerie de Nimy (museedenimy.blogspot.com).
