Charming little cut crystal smelling salt bottle, dating from the late 19th century.
This delicate miniature bottle (6 cm high x 2.9 cm in diameter) captivates with the fineness of its faceted crystal and its perfectly preserved stopper, complete with a ground inner stopper, a sign of quality and refinement.
A rare and precious find: it still contains its original salts, moving testaments to its history.
🪶 At the time, these salts, often based on perfumed ammonia, were used to revive or refresh elegant ladies prone to "the vapours" or dizziness. Simply holding the bottle to the nose was enough to regain some vigour. A true accessory for well-being and coquetry, the smelling salt bottle was an essential item for ladies of the Belle Époque.
