Charming Art Deco rotating cake stand, likely dating from the 1930s-1940s, combining beautiful glazed ceramic with a gilded metal mount.
The ceramic, in a superb deep cobalt blue, is adorned with two large stylized irises in salmon pink and white tones, connected by long, flowing green stems. A particularly elegant floral decor, whose design is characteristic of the aesthetic of the interwar period.
The platter is set in a circular gilded metal mount, enhanced with three wavy wire handles. Underneath the tray, a mechanism allows it to rotate to facilitate serving at the table.
Originally intended for presenting and serving cakes, tarts, or petit fours, this lovely item can now return to its primary function or be repurposed as a display tray for perfume bottles, collectible items, or a beautiful decorative arrangement.
The ceramic is in excellent condition, with no significant damage. The metal mount shows wear and loss of gilding, visible in the photographs and consistent with the age and use of the object. These give it a beautiful antique patina.
