A delicate solid silver pocket matchbox with a floral relief decoration (here, wisteria flowers) and whiplash lines, typical of the Art Nouveau style.
It features several hallmarks on the inner edge: a crab (800/1000 silver), a lozenge-shaped silversmith's mark: a rose + unidentified M, and "Déposé".
The crab is the guarantee mark for 800/1000 silver, used in France from 1838 to 1962.
Its interior is in vermeil and its original striker (underneath) for lighting matches is still functional, as is its hinge.

Condition: very good overall condition (note 2 small scratches on one side due to use).
