Lovely snuff box made from a cowrie shell, with a silver-plated metal rim, perhaps also a rosary box. It opens in 2 parts with a small clasp and likely dates from the late 19th century. It is a true gem!
This is a very refined little object that can be used as is, as a pillbox, or to elegantly adorn a display cabinet or curiosity cabinet.
It is in excellent condition.
