This old 800/1000th silver belt buckle (hallmarked for fineness), delicately crafted with stylized flowers and openwork motifs, seems to have come straight out of a trousseau forgotten in a wardrobe smelling of lavender.
Its finely chased work, both geometric and floral, evokes the craftsmanship of yesteryear – perhaps that of a Central European silversmith at the end of the 19th century (unidentified silversmith's mark).
Certainly, time has left its mark: three of its four small prongs are missing, giving it a gentle imperfection... But isn't that precisely where its charm lies?
