Charming and delicate antique dance card from the second half of the 19th century, probably from the Napoleon III era.
This precious little feminine aide-mémoire features an elegant cover made of ivorine (or carved bone) adorned with a regular pattern of small inlaid metal studs, typical of the refined craftsmanship of 19th-century tabletterie.
In the center is an engraved plaque with the first name "Thérèse," adding an intimate and touching presence to the whole.
The interior unfolds its fan-shaped leaves, each marked with a day of the week in English, formerly used to note dance engagements or social appointments.
The notepad retains its original metal clasp, still functional despite a small missing piece.
