Beautiful vintage Royal Mosa Holland ceramic tile in Delft blue style. The Royal Mosa Holland factory was based in Maastricht (see mark on the back).
This is a painting by the famous Dutch painter JC van Hunnick ( 1925-2016). Born in Rotterdam, he was known for his nostalgic scenes depicting farmers or carpenters at work as well as weddings and other celebrations.
Here, it is a wedding scene of a couple of fishermen, which represents the arrival and the welcome of the newlyweds by the village. The tile is presented in a wooden frame (oak) and dates from the 50s-60s.
On the ceramic is inscribed: "Hulde aan het bruidspaar" which in Dutch means "Tribute to the married couple"!
