Magnificent Art Deco cigarette case in engine-turned silver-plated metal with typical Art Deco geometric motifs and stamped Kraftalpacca on the clasp.
Kraftalpacca is a brand associated with cigarette cases and other items made of alpaca, an alloy (copper, nickel, and zinc) known for its resemblance to silver. Products bearing this mark were often manufactured in Germany, particularly in the city of Pforzheim, a historic center for the production of jewelry and precious metal objects.
The clasp has other hallmarks attesting that it is a silver-plated item (2): Hallmarks number 2 of silver-plated metal weighing 80 g to 84 g.
It dates from the 1930s and is in very good condition.
