Magnificent pair of Art Nouveau enamelled glass vases titled "Ducks in Flight", signed JEM.
Joseph MURE is associated with the signature JEM. Sometimes he is associated with the Vosges master glassmaker François-Théodore Legras (1839-1916) and presented as his pupil.
JEM produced decorative pieces in pottery, ceramics, faience, and painted glass in his own workshop, located at 98 rue de Faubourg St Martin in Paris. His dates of birth and death are unknown. He seems to have produced between 1920 and 1944.
These 2 pieces are in excellent condition: no cracks, no missing parts (note: 3 small original firing defects on one of the vases (on the inside of the neck and on the bottom), see photos).
It is rare to find 2. The motif is charming, bucolic, and very fresh in shades of green, yellow, and white.
