Superb animal ceramic sculpture by Charles Lemanceau (1905-1980), signed in relief on the base, depicting a stag and a doe surrounded by vegetation.
This sculpture was created for the art workshops of Galeries Laffayette La Maîtrise around 1925, the year of the Universal Exhibition.
It is in excellent condition (note a few small enamel chips, see photos, and a small chip on the underside of the right corner of the base).
The color and pattern are magnificent!
