This lovely pressed molded glass flower frog vase was made by Verreries Mécaniques Champenoises (VMC) of Reims.
The company Verreries Mécaniques Champenoises was founded in 1911. At the beginning of the 20th century, Verreries Mécaniques Champenoises covered 12,000 m², located 2 km from Reims. The technical direction was provided by the industrialist from Reims, Charles GERBAUD. The company planned to operate the patented Gerbaud machines. The invention of the Gerbaud process was intended to replace human blowing, which was very unhealthy as it was done by mouth. It also made it possible to eliminate night work and establish an "effective 10-hour workday." Retaining its original label, this flower frog vase model captivates with its elegant relief decor evoking stylized flowers. This flower frog, with 19 holes, makes it easy to compose delicate bouquets while perfectly holding each stem. It rests on 6 small glass feet.
The flower frog is adorned with a silver-plated metal band, delicately decorated with two baroque cherubs forming the handles. Now removable, this band offers the possibility of presenting the piece with or without its mounting, depending on taste or the desired decorative style.
Both functional and decorative, this flower frog will naturally find its place in the center of a table, on a console, or in a display cabinet, where it will highlight both fresh and dried flowers.
