Very pretty old candy box in the shape of a hen, in multicolored biscuit, 1900 period, stamped LM and numbered NI

It is a hen lying on a bed of straw, brooding her eggs. The base of the box consists of a woven basket, all in biscuit.

Originally, to produce this type of piece, the soft dough, without kaolin, was cooked twice, hence the term "bis – cooked". With the discovery of kaolin in France, the unglazed figurines no longer needed more than a single firing, but the productions of figurines that remained white kept this name.

Today, the definition of porcelain biscuit is a figure or a group in baked porcelain without glaze, that is to say unglazed (source: https://galerie-atena.com).

This beautiful object will delight collectors, but can also decorate your interior with charm!

Very good condition, no chips, beak intact, some small signs of normal wear.

Dimensions: length 13 cm, height 13 cm. Weight: 506g.
