The Charm of Violets: the passion of a second life!

My Story

A few years ago, I decided to change direction and fully dedicate myself to a passion that has always been with me: beautiful antique finds and old objects.

Even as a child, I accompanied my mother to flea markets and auction houses, searching for that rare gem. I loved those moments of discovery, those objects we looked at, turned over in our hands, and whose history we tried to imagine. It was undoubtedly there, and thanks to my parents, that my love for old things and my taste for beautiful collections were born.

After a career in the social sector, I chose to give my path a new direction by training as an antiques dealer. It allowed me to obtain a diploma, of course, but above all to acquire valuable knowledge and to refine my eye for objects, their eras, their styles, and their manufacturing techniques.

My background as a historian naturally complements this approach. It fuels my curiosity and prompts me to conduct research as precise as possible to identify, date, and tell the stories of the pieces I offer you.

Since my retirement in 2023, I have the chance to dedicate my time fully to this activity, which is, for me, much more than a profession: a true passion.

Because while theoretical knowledge is essential, it is also years of practice, discoveries, research, and objects passed through my hands that have taught me to appreciate the richness and infinite diversity of the world of antiques and vintage items.

Objects with a story

Objects from the past always move me.

I love their small imperfections, the marks left by time, the delicacy of a decoration, the elegance of a form, or the detail of a craftsmanship sometimes forgotten today. Behind each of them lies an era, an artisan, a fashion, a story... and sometimes even a little mystery to unravel.

It is this beauty steeped in history that I am eager to share with you.

For Le Charme des Violettes, I carefully select unique pieces, sometimes precious, sometimes simply charming or unusual, but always chosen because they have evoked an emotion in me or aroused my curiosity.

Objects that, I hope, will in turn charm you.

The values I hold dear

Authenticity
I select antique or vintage objects whose era, origin, and characteristics I strive to determine with the greatest care. Each piece is described with precision and transparency, including any marks left by time that are part of its history.

Trust
It is essential to me. Buying an antique object remotely requires being able to trust its description and the person offering it. I therefore make a point of presenting each piece to you sincerely, through detailed photographs and descriptions as precise as possible.

Sharing
This probably best summarizes my approach. Sharing a passion, transmitting the history of an object, telling the story of an era or a craftsmanship, and, perhaps, making you want to look differently at these witnesses of the past.

A new story begins…

My greatest pleasure lies in the search: discovering an object, observing it, trying to unravel its secrets, finding its origin, documenting it, describing it, and appraising it.

But there is another moment that I particularly love: when a piece leaves Le Charme des Violettes to join a new home.

An antique object has already lived several lives. I like to think that I am ultimately just passing through its life and that my role is also to allow it to continue its story with someone who will love and preserve it.

I invite you to enter my romantic and eclectic universe, populated by jewelry, glassware, porcelain, charming objects, curiosities, and small treasures gathered through my discoveries.

Perhaps you will find an object you have been looking for for a long time... or, more simply, the one you weren't looking for but which will make your heart beat faster.

Take the time to look, discover, be surprised... and above all, enjoy your visit!
