Very pretty Scandinavian bracelet in silver-plated metal and its 925 silver safety chain (925 hallmark on the ring), beautifully carved, adorned with natural green Baltic amber stones: 3 large oval stones and 3 small round green stones with yellow reflections.
Baltic amber is a fossilized plant resin produced by conifers about 44 million years ago when the Baltic Sea was covered with trees. This amber is called succinite because of its high content of succinic acid (between 3 and 8%). It is most often used for making jewelry. Its colors range from yellow to black, passing through red, blue, and white. The shores of the Baltic Sea contain the largest and best-known amber deposits.
Amber is called "the gold of the Baltic Sea" . To find this precious plant resin, fishermen are willing to brave the icy and tumultuous waters. On an island in northern Germany, pieces of amber sometimes reappear with the currents and storms, on the beach or near the rocks. That day, Henry Engels is lucky: "When the sea releases amber, and you find it, you're happy" (source: France 3, 31/1/2022).
The bracelet has a clip-on clasp and a 10 cm safety chain.
