Charming rattle dating from the early 20th century, composed of a part in finely chased silver-plated metal with floral motifs (including an elegant thistle), and an ivory-colored celluloid ring.
This type of rattle was very popular in layettes of yesteryear, combining aesthetics with utilitarian function. One can still observe some tooth marks, testaments to its use, which lend it an authenticity full of tenderness.
Today, it is to be considered a collector's and decorative item, perfect for complementing a display case of antique birth objects or a collection of curiosities.
