This elegant diamond-shaped brooch with its mesmerizing plays of transparency is attributed to Léa Stein, the famous French designer of cellulose acetate jewelry. Little known to the general public, this creative period (late 60s – early 70s) was characterized by pure, abstract, and modernist lines, long before the explosion of her famous cats, foxes, or Art Deco faces.
Made from laminated rhodoïd, typical of her work, this unsigned brooch features a metal clasp stamped "Western Germany", perfectly consistent with the fastenings used by Léa Stein in her early series, sometimes produced or mounted for export.
📍 Condition: very good vintage condition (note: small original bubbles on one of the edges, see photos) which do not detract from the beauty of this piece.
