Lovely jewelry set consisting of a necklace and a bracelet in 925 silver, both set with authentic natural Baltic amber, cognac color. This is a Scandinavian design creation.
Baltic amber is a fossilized plant resin produced by conifers around 44 million years ago when the Baltic Sea was covered with trees. This amber is called succinite because of its high succinic acid content. (between 3 and 8%). It is most used for jewelry making. Its colors range from yellow to black, including red, blue and white. The shores of the Baltic Sea contain the largest and best-known deposits of amber .
Amber is called “the gold of the Baltic Sea” . To find this precious plant resin, fishermen are ready to brave the icy and tumultuous waters. On an island in northern Germany, pieces of amber sometimes reappear with currents and storms, on the beach or near rocks. That day, Henry Engels was lucky: “When the sea releases amber, and we find it, we are happy” (source: France 3, 1/31/2022).
The necklace consists of 5 amber stones surrounded by engraved sterling silver and a chain. The 925 hallmark appears on the clasp.
