Its spherical body and slender, slightly fluted neck reveal the glassblower's hand: each undulation, each air bubble trapped in the glass is a testament to the ancient craft.
Fine strands of red, white and cobalt blue glass snake through the transparency, creating a play of lively and poetic lines, typical of the "a fili" or "a retorti" decorations, dear to Venetian master glassmakers.
In the past, this little marvel adorned a dressing table or a travel kit; it contained a few drops of perfume or aromatic salts intended to revive the elegant ladies of the Belle Époque.
