Very pretty game of multicolored terracotta balls of different sizes: includes 243 balls of different sizes and colors and 1 larger jack to place.

The game of marbles is one of the oldest games in human history. "Egyptians, Greeks and Romans played marbles. In the Middle Ages, the marble was called gobil . It was made of earth and imperfectly round. In the 17th century in Bohemia, Holland and England, it was found in porcelain. In the 18th century, the clay ball became perfectly spherical and many games emerged according to the imagination of children but also adults. In the 19th century, it crossed the Atlantic and the first glass beads appeared. They are true objects of art. Venetian glassmakers and jewelry makers created the first agates. It was especially between 1850 and 1920 that the marble experienced unprecedented growth. New manufacturing tools enabled greater production. First made of stone or onyx, then of agglomerated and fired clay, on the eve of the Second World War, this process was abandoned in favor of manufacturing Cold and dried in the natural air without cooking and dipped in bright colors" (Source: https://www.dhnet.be/archives-journal/2006/04/30/les-billes-de-notre-enfance).

You had to hit your opponent's ball with your ball, place your ball in a hole before him or even complete a circuit as quickly as possible.
