Wonderful small-sized minaudière in 800/1000 gold-plated silver, guillochéd with typical Art Deco grooves. It bears 2 hallmarks inside: CAR and 800.
It is fitted with a chain and a snap clasp set with a green cabochon.
Inside, a mirror on the door of the left compartment, which probably contained small sheets of paper; on the right, two small doors close off small compartments, one of which was likely for powder or pills, and the other probably for money. Originally, a small pencil would have completed the set, but this is missing.
This object is of very good quality and in very good condition (note: a few small scratches from use and 2 small, barely visible dents on the front). All small compartments open easily and the exterior clasp works perfectly.
This is a beautiful collector's item. It is even more beautiful in person than in the photos!
