Cigar pipe in gilded brass with figurative bowl, without heel and straight stem
conical ascending towards the end. Kettle-headed man with
mustache and beard, a helmet on his head with a distinctive crest.
Stem base thickened with a leaf pattern, concentric rings at
the end of the rod. Small chain.
This rare pipe dates from 1840-1880 and comes from Western Europe,
probably from Germany.
A similar model in silver is preserved and referenced in the
Pipe Museum in Amsterdam under number APM 23.148 (see:
https://pipemuseum.nl/nl/collection/apm-23-148).
It is in good condition and will look great in a collection or
a cabinet of curiosities.
