Charming little vintage poodle family (Mom poodle and puppies poodle) made of redware ceramic (red earthenware), dating from the 1950s.
These 3 pretty figurines are covered with a glossy black glaze with white accents to simulate curly fur. Hand-painted details, such as yellow eyes and red ears, add an expressive and whimsical touch.
This style is typical of kitsch Japanese figurines exported in the post-war period. Nevertheless, there is no stamp or original label proving their origin.
These cute and whimsical pieces are very decorative and are often collected.
They are well-made and in very good condition (note: 1 tiny chip on the inside of the back leg of one of the puppies, almost invisible, see photo).
